Why patients choose Airflow

Clean where it matters. Comfortable while we do it.

Airflow is part of SMOOCH's prevention-first approach to dental hygiene. Your clinician first assesses your oral health, then uses plaque-disclosing dye to show where biofilm is hiding before cleaning those areas.

Warm, gentle cleaning

A controlled stream of warm water, air and fine powder cleans tooth surfaces and many hard-to-reach areas.

See plaque before we clean it

Disclosing solution makes plaque biofilm visible, helping your hygienist target the areas that need attention.

Fresh, smooth finish

Airflow can remove plaque biofilm and many external stains from coffee, tea and everyday life.

The SMOOCH difference

Dental hygiene, reimagined around you.

At SMOOCH, your hygiene appointment is about more than cleaning teeth. We combine modern technology, prevention-focused care and a calm, spa-inspired environment so you can understand your oral health and feel comfortable throughout your visit.

  • Personalised assessment. Your hygienist checks your teeth, gums and soft tissues before treatment.
  • Targeted care. We clean what needs cleaning, and remove hardened tartar only where required.
  • Practical home-care advice. We show you where plaque is building up and how to improve brushing and interdental cleaning.
  • A relaxed setting. SMOOCH is designed to make preventive dental care feel welcoming, modern and unhurried.

The 5 steps of a SMOOCH Airflow Therapy appointment

A simple, guided appointment with every step explained as we go.

Assess & plan

Your hygienist assesses your teeth, gums and soft tissues, discusses your concerns and tailors the appointment to your needs.

Disclose — the dye doesn't lie

A safe coloured disclosing solution makes plaque biofilm visible, showing exactly where brushing and flossing may be missing.

Airflow clean

Warm water, gentle airflow and fine powder remove plaque biofilm and many surface stains comfortably.

Tartar removal, if needed

Any remaining hardened tartar (calculus) is carefully removed with specialised instruments only where required.

Review & advice

We show you the result and provide personalised guidance for brushing, interdental cleaning and your ongoing hygiene schedule.

Questions

Airflow Therapy FAQs

Is Airflow the same as a traditional scale and polish?

Not exactly. Airflow uses a fine powder with warm water and air to remove plaque biofilm and many surface stains. If hardened tartar remains, your clinician removes it separately where needed.

Is it suitable if I have sensitive teeth?

Many patients find the warm-water approach comfortable. Your hygienist will assess sensitivity and adapt treatment to your individual needs.

Will Airflow whiten my teeth?

Airflow is a hygiene treatment, not a bleaching treatment. Removing external staining can make teeth look brighter and cleaner, but it does not change the natural internal colour of the tooth.

How often should I have a hygiene appointment?

Your ideal interval depends on your gum health, plaque levels, medical and dental history, and home care. Your SMOOCH clinician will recommend a schedule that suits you.

Can I book Airflow as a new patient?

Yes. New patients can begin with a comprehensive hygiene assessment so the clinician can understand your oral health and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

Cleaner teeth. Healthier gums. A more comfortable experience.
