Traditionally at home brushing and teeth cleaning methods typically eliminate only about 43% of plaque (known in the dental world as biofilm). However, with the innovative and gente scale and polish technique known as Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), our highly experienced dental hygienists make biofilm visible and ensure of its complete removal, promoting a healthier mouth and body.

What to expect during your appointment

  1. An assessment/examination of your oral health - this will include X-rays and clinical photos during your initial visit. 

  2. A comprehensive yet gentle teeth cleaning/polishing session using the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) scale and polish technology. 


Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is the latest Swiss technology that delivers a cleaner, faster and a gentler scale and polish.  A coloured dye applied to the teeth reveals any plaque, and high pressure warm water jets, along with a soft powder clean away the plaque, leaving your teeth two shades whiter. And It’s a great solution for those people with sensitive teeth too.

The Smooch Hygiene Exam - $69

As part of the Smooch Hygiene Exam, your oral health history is discussed, and a hygienist checks your lips, gums, and teeth for health. You will also get X-rays and a treatment plan for the future. It does NOT come with any kind of treatment or cleaning of the teeth. This is the gateway appointment for your future long term relationship with SMOOCH. To set you up for success in the future we encourage patients to think about joining Club SMOOCH at this stage with all the benefits this entails for your long term oral health and our local community as well.

If you’re stepping into our clinic for the first time, you’re at the perfect starting point. Our friendly team is excited to meet you and lay the groundwork for our budding relationship. During your initial visit, our goal is to thoroughly understand your oral health ambitions and priorities. 


We will provide a comprehensive risk assessment of your oral and facial health, including x-rays, clinical photos, and a teeth cleaning session using the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) scale and polish method. If it’s been over six months since your last dental visit or you’ve never consulted with a dental hygienist before additional appointments might be necessary.

Periodontal therapy refers to a range of treatments that may be required if you have developed periodontitis or gum disease. These treatments play a crucial role in restoring the health of your teeth and gums while preventing tooth loss. Typically, the procedure involves a deep cleaning above and below the gumline to eliminate bacteria and tartar buildup on both the crown and root surfaces of the teeth. This is done using a combination of ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments. In cases of moderate to advanced gum disease, multiple appointments may be necessary. If needed, a referral to a periodontist (gum specialist) for further care will be made.

Club SMOOCH

We believe that you should get the best care for your teeth without breaking the bank. That's why we’ve created Club SMOOCH. You can choose from three different dental hygiene plans and pay either once a week or once a month. 


For just $1 a day, Club members on our Bronze plan can enjoy two hygiene appointments per year!
